Hay
classes meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:15 - 6:15 PM and
on Shabbat (Saturday) from 9:30 AM to 12:00 Noon.
Siddur skills and Hebrew will continue to develop with the text "The
New Siddur Program for Hebrew and Heritage-Book 3". Torah study,
begun in the Dalet year, will continue and will focus on the book of
Exodus. The study of history will also continue beginning with Jewish
life in the Middle Ages and concluding with modern times.
Concepts such as Mitzvah, Midrash and Halacha will be covered in the
Basic Judaism portion of the curriculum. Students will explore their
Jewish identity through a course in ethics. A study of life cycle events
such as birth, baby naming, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, marriage, death and mourning
will be undertaken.
Classes on Shabbat include Junior Congregation for the upper grades,
which will meet from 9:30 - 10:30 AM. Parents are welcomed
and encouraged to attend Junior Congregation with their children.
