We
do not view the Bar /Bat Mitzvah as the end but the beginning of a lifetime
of Jewish learning. Up to now our children have only learned how to
learn. Hebrew High School gives our teenagers the opportunity to learn
at a new - more adult level.
The Central Hebrew High School is a multi-synagogue sponsored program
based at OJC that includes students from other conservative synagogues
on the South Shore of Long Island including Beth Shalom of
Long Beach, Temple
B'nai Shalom of Rockville Centre and the South Baldwin Jewish Center.
There are two levels of study - for 8th - 9th graders and for 10th -
11th graders. Classes are held each Tuesday from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM and
include Hebrew, Current Events, Jewish Ethics, Bible Study (Chumash)
and the Jewish Holidays.
