One of the things that seems to happen quite naturally here is people want to give back. After experiencing our community, they realize OJC has been built on the idea of so many people helping to make this place special through the years. They look around for a way to support OJC, either financially or with their time.
In addition, many people want to know how they can give to OJC “In Honor” of someone special who recently read Torah or Haftorah or had an Aliyah or a Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Or they want to leave a mark “In Memory” of someone close to their hearts who passed away, maybe in a Siddur or a seat in the Sanctuary or the Beit Midrash.
There are a number of easy ways to give back–either by volunteering or contributing–to OJC. For more information or to volunteer, please email SupportOJC@oceansidejewishcenter.org.
Support OJC Financially
SCRIP: This is the easiest and most inexpensive way for you to support OJC financially without any cost to yourself. For more information check out our special page on SCRIP.
Hesed is Hebrew for “kindness.” This word is commonly translated as “love” or “loving-kindness.” It is at the very heart of the Jewish religion. Hesed is one of the pillars upon which the world stands. For a synagogue, hesed is one of the many ways that we express our sense of community and mutual concern for one another.
Joining OJC is a vital component to supporting everything we are able to do here. Membership helps provide the funding for the programs and resources, the events and celebrations we are able to create at OJC. For more information, check out our Membership page.
Maybe someone close to you has just done something wonderful, like a Torah reading or an Aliyah, that has filled your heart with joy. Or maybe someone close to you has passed away, leaving you filled with sadness and you want to make sure their spirit is remembered. OJC has many ways to give a tribute such as sponsoring Oneg or Kiddush, the Hadelet newsletter or the Rabbis Torah Table Talks or commemorating someone in a Siddur or our Beit Midrash. Please check out our Tribute page for more detailed information.
Maybe you are interested in giving some of your time to support OJC. We have so many clubs and events and activities going on, there is always ways to help out depending upon what you are interested in doing. Please check out our Volunteer page for more information.
